Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my Daddy.  He is so great!  He makes the best play toy.  I really enjoy play fighting with him and biting his hands and using them like they my toy.  I don't think he minds it when I bite him.  I don't bite too hard...just hard enough to let him know who's boss!

A new project...

...is in the works.  Today was the planning the stage of our drip irrigation system.  My Daddy mended a hose, and laid out all the parts to make sure that he has everything he needs.  I think this means that he won't be using the hose as much to water our veggie garden.  Sierra is really scared of the hose but I don't mind it.  I wonder why we need the drip irrigation system?  Could it be because it's getting warmer and that means that it's close to camping season?  I sure hope so!

Blogging...

on a Monday.  It's been VERY windy here today.  Too bad Mommy didn't bring our camera for our walk.  We saw lots of interesting things.  Mommy freaked out and screamed when she saw 4 little featherless birdies on the sidewalk.  My Daddy thinks that since it's so windy that the nest must have turned over, killing the baby birds.  We were all so sad.  We also saw a big branch that had broken off from the tree.  THAT'S how windy it is here.  I hope that the wind dies down soon.

Week five in the garden

Daddy went out on a boat in the ocean to catch us some fish!  He caught one but it was too little so they had to let the fishy back into the ocean.  I was sad to learn that there were three dogs on the boat.  I wish I could have gone with him.  I kept a watchful eye on our garden though.  Everything is doing great!  The cucumbers are still little.  I wonder what is taking them so long?  The bell peppers are coming along nicely and so are the tomatoes.  My Daddy built a door for the fence.  Sierra is not allowed into the garden.  Maybe one day when she grows up she will be a good girl and not dig where she's not supposed to dig.

Teaching Sierra...

...the find art of squirrel hunting.  Since squirrels are almost done hibernating I thought I would show Sierra the ropes.  Hunting for squirrels is so much fun.  I first had to tell her to be still and to listen for them.  They chirp even though they are underground.  It is then that you run to find their holes and stick your head inside to see if you can find one.  I can't wait till they are running through the field.  I am ready to chase them and maybe Sierra will be too.

Fun on a Friday

Today Mommy went to San Francisco to meet her good friend who was visiting from Arizona.  (She didn't take any pictures because she says was too busy).  Sierra and I went to work with Daddy.  We had a fun day at work!  We met a lot of people and my Daddy worked on a lot of different cars.  Uncle Tom didn't let me get on his motor bike like last time.  It's because I knocked it over the last time I was on it.  And the best part?  I didn't have to wear my harness and be hooked to the seat belt.  Shhhhh!  Don't tell the Animal Police on me or my Daddy.  He says that there isn't enough room for the three of us if I'm wearing my harness.  Yayyy for freedom!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for equal rights.  Last night while we were doing tricks for treats my Daddy helped himself to some of my treats (cheese).  Who does he think he is?  So while my Mommy was getting his lunch ready she let me have some of his cheese.  Look at the surprise my Daddy found today when he was making his sandwich.  That'll show him!

Drinking water...

...is serious business when it's 95 degrees outside or 90 degrees inside.  Whew!  We had another sweltering day today!  Tonight, my Mommy finally turned on the AC.  We were all VERY happy!  Sierra is enjoying her new "water bottle" that came with her retractable leash.  She can't drink from a human water bottle like I can.  I wonder why?

One HOT Monday

It was 95 degrees today.  Our house, right now, is at 86.7 degrees.  Can you believe that?  Mommy is too frugal to turn on the A/C.  She wants to wait until it gets hotter in the house.  Thank goodness it's supposed to cool down soon.  So while it's hot I love sitting right in front of the fan to feel the nice cold air.  I hope that everyone is staying cool!

Week four in the garden

It's been four weeks since my Daddy planted our vegetable garden.  Everything is coming along great!  The jalapenos have finally germinated and pushed their way through the dirt.  We have been eagerly waiting for them.  The only sad news that I have to report regarding our garden is that someone seems to have been nibbling on one of the strawberries.  The other sad news is that my sister Sierra likes to dig up the organic fertilizer that the veggies need so my Daddy had to put a fence around our garden.  What a bummer!  As you can see from the photo below Sierra still has not learned her lesson.  Can you believe she is running across the raised bed?  The nerve!  We also saw these cute pups today.  They must not live too close because we haven't met them before.  I hope they come by more often!

Look at what...

...My Mommy and Daddy found today.  Well, they found it and then bought it.  My Daddy has been wanting to get a retractable leash for Sierra but Mommy says we are on a budget and she has a leash that works just fine.  They were at Ross today and saw this set for $6.99 so Daddy bought it.  Look who's being advertised?  Eskies!  How pawesome is that?  Does anyone know who this is?  I want to say thanks!  It was really warm today during our walk.  I drank almost all of the water in the water bottle by myself.  Boy!  It's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow.  I better tell Mommy and Daddy to bring more water tomorrow.

Fun on a Friday

See my Daddy getting ready to put my harness on me?  This means that we are going on a car ride.  This means that I get to go with my Mommy and Daddy to where they're going.  They told me that we are going to see Milo.  This means that I get to see my BFF.  This means that we are going to have FUN!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for strawberries.  They are so very pretty.  Look how red they are.  They are also very sweet and delicious.  I can't wait for the strawberries from our garden to be ready!

My new toy...

...isn't so new anymore!  It took me less than a day to get all the stuffing out of my new toy.  See?  The blue dog was mine and the pink one belongs to my sister.  Sierra let me borrow hers  momentarily so that I could show you the difference between our toys.  The blue dog has lost all of his stuffing.  Did I do that?  The pink dog is still in tact and full of her stuffing.  I wonder if Sierra will let me...nah, I better just wait for a new toy.  I don't want to steal her new toy away from her.

Lots of boxes...

...and none were for us...well, the oatmeal is.  Daddy brought home lots of boxes with him tonight.  I thought that they were all for me...Greenies, new toys, treats.  Oh well, a dog can dream, right?  The boxes were mostly for Mommy.  Things for our home.  The oatmeal is mostly for me though.  It's part of my delicious dinner.

Week three in the garden

I hope everyone is having a great Easter Sunday!  Our garden is doing very well.  Everything is growing and lots of things are sprouting.  We are still waiting for the jalapenos.  They have not yet sprouted.  Daddy planted more lettuce and parsley this week.  The buttercrunch lettuce seeds that he planted are beginning to sprout.  It's so exciting!  And look at the strawberries.  They are still very green but they are starting to look like strawberries and not just a plant.

Happy Easter!!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter tomorrow!  Today was an eventful day!  My Daddy planted more seeds in our garden today (lettuce).  We went for a long walk and had a great time playing at the park.  Mommy made Hawaiian BBQ Chicken pizza for dinner.  She let me taste test the cheese and the chicken.  Daddy tried to get a picture of it but he was too slow.  We got our Easter baskets one day early.  Mommy is being frugal so Sierra and I are sharing one basket.  See all of our new toys and treats?  I can't wait to dig in and start playing.  Oh, and by the way, I may not seem too excited about receiving our Easter basket because as you can see, Mommy and Daddy put something on my head.  Bunny ears.  Come on!

Fun on a Friday

Happy Good Friday everyone!  And what a GOOD Friday it's been.  Last night I had the time of my life!  Mommy and Daddy had In -n- Out for dinner.  This is something out of the ordinary for my parents.  They rarely eat out and only have In -n- Out when we are going to Tahoe.  Daddy had a craving for it so Mommy said ok.  Mommy gets a Double Double (2 hamburger patties) and gives me one of her hamburger patties.  She's the best!  We didn't get a walk yesterday because it was raining.  The rain went away and we went for a long walk today.  I was in Heaven!  Then for dinner Mommy made a roast chicken and guess what?  I got to have some of it!  I love Good Fridays!  Sierra and I had a blast playing today.  We play like this several times throughout the day.

Hiding...

...in my fortress of solitude.  My sister Sierra loves pine cones.  She tries to bring one home every day when we walk around the park.  Sometimes my Daddy will play fetch with the pine cones.  He decided to bring one home for Sierra today.  She has a hard time carrying it the whole time we walk.  When Sierra wasn't looking, I snagged it away from her and hid with it in my fortress.  We made a huge mess for my Mommy but I know she won't mind.  Thank goodness for fun toys!

What an exciting...

...Championship Game.  My Daddy and Mommy are not huge sports fans.  They'll watch the big games, like the Super Bowl and maybe go to a few baseball games but they generally don't watch sports on TV.  One of our friends came over on Saturday and we all watched the Final Four teams play.  We knew that tonight would be a great game between UNC and Michigan State.  There was lots of screaming and shouting tonight during the game.  My parents thought it WAS a great game and may end up watching more college basketball.  Does this mean that I'll have to watch all the games with them too?  I better start getting familiar with baseball lingo.

Week two in the garden

Our garden is doing great.  Many of the seeds have pushed their way through the dirt and have begun to show themselves.  We all get very excited every time we see the tiniest speckle of green in a field of brown dirt.  The only seeds that have not yet germinated are the jalapenos.  We are patiently waiting for them.  My Daddy added a mini raised bed for lettuce.  I love protein style hamburgers from In - N- Out(that is a hamburger wrapped in lettuce from our favorite drive in).

Fun on a Friday

It's been very windy all week so tonight we decided to stay in and watch a movie.  We all piled up on the bed and watched "Eight Below" together.  What a great movie!
