Today we...

...harvested our cantaloupe. Mommy didn't want to cut it yet. She said we'll have it for dessert tomorrow night. Daddy let me smell it and it smells super sweet! The weather was beautiful today, mid 70's and tonight we didn't have to wait for it to cool down before our walk. There was a nice cool breeze. I can't help but want to be outside all night long.

We saw...

...a new pup across the street today. He can't be new, can he? No way, he's too big. How can it be that we've never seen him before? I mean, he lives right across the street from us. He sure is cute and such a good boy. Why do his Mommy and Daddy have that silly thing on his snout? He didn't make a peep when he saw us. We hope to meet him soon. I am happy to report that it was 81 degrees today and this evening, it's 69 degrees. I think fall has finally arrived in California!!!

Week twenty seven in the garden

It was another scorcher today. I demand cooler weather. Now! I think our cantaloupe is almost ready to harvest. It smells super sweet and there are no more green lines. The cucumber plant is doing well and making its way up the trellis. Some of our tomatoes are slowly starting to turn red. Daddy thinks the onions are almost ready. We watched Tiger Woods play in The Tour Championship. Even though he didn't win we are glad he won the Fed Ex Cup. Way to go Tiger! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Boy was it a...

...HOT day today, 98 degrees to be exact. We stayed in for most of the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They babysat us while Mommy and Daddy went to my cousin's birthday party. Of course we were invited but Mommy and Daddy knew that there was going to be a young puppy there and since she hasn't had all of her shots they thought it would be best for us to meet her later. Her name is Roxy and she and her 7 other brothers and sisters were abandoned at a football field in Richmond, CA. She belongs to my auntie's sister in law. The vet thinks that she is a Lab/German Shepherd mix. Some of her siblings look like Labs and some of them look like German Shepherds. How could anyone abandon such cutie pies? It breaks my Mommy's heart just thinking about it. The vet thinks Roxy is seven to eight weeks old. Mommy and Daddy said she's super cute and for now, very sleepy. We can't wait to meet her.

Fun on a Friday...

for my Mommy and Daddy! Mommy and Daddy were at Target when they saw this cute Eskie dressed up as a witch. They thought it was so funny and were so happy to see that an Eskie was being feautured. Daddy wanted to buy us costumes but Mommy said they were too expensive...besides, we have halloween scarves. I'm secretly happy that we don't have to wear costumes. I don't like to wear anything other than my fur coat.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for strawberries from our garden. This crop has been slow but today Daddy found one red strawberry. And guess who got to eat it? Me! It was very delicious and I can't wait until there are more strawberries for all of us to enjoy.

Happy...

...First Day of Fall everyone! It was 94 degrees here today. Where are the fall temperatures? We didn't go outside a lot today, just some quick pee mail breaks and also to greet Daddy when he came home from work. It was still pretty warm during our walk tonight. We were all panting. I put myself right in front of the fan as soon as we got home. It took me about an hour to cool down. Mommy helped us cool down by giving us Frosty Paws Ice Cream.

I have...

...some sad news to report. It's going to be in the high 90's all week! I'm starting to regret not moving to Alaska. In other news, Sierra has been sleeping in some weird places lately. Check her out underneath the small ladder in our master bedroom. Daddy thinks she must have gotten too cold on her tile and moved onto the carpet. Mommy couldn't find her the other night on her tile and started panicking...until she noticed her underneath the ladder.

Week twenty six in the garden

Daddy says things are growing slow in the garden right now. We still have lots of green tomatoes and basil and new strawberries coming in. I can already smell the sweet cantaloupe but Daddy says it's not quite ready yet. Sierra was very tired today. She fell asleep while we were outside helping Daddy in our garden.

Mission...

...not accomplished. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes on finding Grandpa's wallet. Daddy and Grandpa had a fun time fishing while looking for Grandpa's wallet. Daddy was all set with his snorkel gear and he looked for hours and hours. I told him that next time he should take Sierra and me so we can help! Daddy and Grandpa brought home these little fish. I can't wait to eat them!

Not so fun on a Friday

Where does Daddy think he's going without us? Grandpa came to pick up Daddy tonight. They are going on a rescue mission in search of a wallet. Back when we went camping during Memorial day Grandpa lost his wallet. We are all keeping our paws crossed in hopes that it's rescued. Sierra and I sat in the new boat while Daddy and Grandpa loaded up the truck. Hurry home, Daddy, we'll miss you!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my Grandpa's new fishing boat. He bought it a few days ago. We are all very excited about taking it out on the water. Watch out fishies, here we come! I am also thankful for my Mommy's a huge heart of gold. She saw a pup in our city flyer and wanted to go get her right away. Mommy called the shelter and received good but sad news. She was happy that the American Eskimo had already been adopted and sad that we weren't the adopters.

It was...

...85 degrees here today, warmer than yesterday. The weather man said we are supposed to be in the 100's by the weekend. So much for fall weather! Sierra and I had lots of fun playing today. Somedays we play a lot and other days we don't. I was enjoying a nice nap in my favorite napping place when suddenly I smelled buttery cinnamony goodness. Could Mommy be baking snickerdoodles? They are Daddy's favorite cookie! They were really yummy too. I'm so glad that we got to taste test.

Azure Monday

Our monthly order from Azure Standard arrived today. Mommy was really bummed that the whole wheat flour didn't arrive. She and Daddy had to go to the store to buy it there. Mommy was not happy about it because it is more expensive at the store. I was really really tired today. I'm not sure why...maybe it's from all the hard work I did yesterday. Supervising Daddy during a car wash takes a lot out of me. I slept most of the day and when Daddy came home it was play time, then dinner time, then walkie time. It's getting darker earlier so we'll have to go for walkies before the sun goes down. It's 79 in the house right now but outside there is a nice cool breeze. Can you guess where I am while Mommy works on my blog for me? I am SO ready for fall.

Week twenty five in the garden

Today we supervised as Daddy washed Mommy's truck. It wasn't too hot today and tonight it was nice and cool. Summer is almost over and our garden is still thriving. We have lots of tomatoes growing. We hope they start turning red soon. Mommy used most of the harvested tomatoes tonight for salsa. Strawberries are starting to grow again. We are excited that there are still cucumbers growing.

P.S. The rain has started. Why is it that when you wash your truck it always rains?

The Proposal

Mommy and Daddy recently saw The Proposal movie. They loved it because there were Eskies in the movie. They've never seen Eskies in a movie so it was very exciting for them. We're all so happy that Eskies have finally made their way into the movie world. Maybe next time they will make a movie where every dog breed is represented. That would be epic!

We will never forget...

Mommy and Daddy say I am too young to know what happened eight years ago today. A lot of brave men and women died that day. A lot of brave men and women are fighting to keep us safe. May we never forget!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for baby wipes. I can't really see back there but Mommy says sometimes I need them. It must be an Eskie thing. TMI? I'm sorry.

Guess what...

I had tonight? A hamburger! I knew something yummy was going on when Daddy pulled out the grill. I got a whiff when I walked by it. Mommy made us our own little hamburger patties. Oh the torture of having to wait until Mommy and Daddy were done with their food! I was a good boy and waited patiently. It was worth the wait! I think it's getting warmer again. There was no cool breeze during our walk tonight. And thank you all again for the kind words to my Mommy. She is feeling better, just coughing a lot and lots of icky stuff coming out.

Today we...

...helped Grandpa again. We set some tile on his kitchen countertops. Mommy and Daddy say that it's very pretty. They hope to be done with everything by the end of this week. Mommy forgot her camera so she was only able to take a picture with her phone.
Mommy wants to thank everyone for their kind wishes. She is feeling better thanks to a cold bug remedy that her friend recommended. She thinks it's only meant for sick people since you can't smell or taste anything when you're really sick. This was her concoction...raw honey, raw apple cider vinegar, water, and 1 garlic clove minced. Daddy said it smelled awful but Mommy couldn't smell a thing.
We hope everyone had a great Labor day weekend!

Week twenty four in the garden

Boy were we surprised to see another cucumber today! Daddy planted cucumber seeds in the smaller raised bed (the one with the sweet potatoes). We also have a cantaloupe growing. This is very exciting! We still have a lot of green beens growing. The tomatoes are getting bigger and bigger too. Mommy can't wait to make more marinara sauce. Our sweet onions seem to be doing really well. Daddy thinks they'll be ready to harvest before the first frost. You can also see the basil plants behind the sweet onions. The basil are doing great!
Mommy has caught the cold bug and she hasn't been feeling well for the passed few days. She's so great because she has walked with us every night. Today was a beautiful day. We only turned on the A/C in the late afternoon and just for a few hours. Mommy even said it was a little cool during our walk tonight.
