Happy Halloween Eve

Protected by Copyscape Plagiarism Tool

We've been seeing this beautiful pup on our walk for the past few weeks. She likes to say hi to us everyday.

Look at all these cool pumpkins. They are very festive!

Oooooh, we thought this ghost was scary! What do you think?

How many of your are dressing up for Halloween tomorrow?

Food for thought Friday

Protected by Copyscape Plagiarism Tool

Since it's the last Friday of National Pizza Month, Daddy thought he'd give Mommy a break in the kitchen and order pizza. This is one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite pizzas. It's called the Hot Hawaiian. Doesn't it look delicious? I had to get a sniff as soon as Daddy put it on the counter. Sierra doesn't stand on her back legs very well so no counter surfing for her. We really, really enjoyed the pizza bones.

Thankful Thursday

We are not really into sports but we sure are glad that a Bay Area team is in the World Series. Way to go, Giants!

To celebrate, Mommy made a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting.

And yes, it is very tasty. Thanks, Mommy!

We are very excited about Game 3 being in Texas. We can't wait to see Kelly Clarkson sing the National Anthem.

Sierra's Scoop

Bbbuuurrrrrrr. It is feeling really cold right now. So cold that I needed to wear a scarf today. Plus I wanted to look cute for my photo shoot. Tonight is going to be the coldest night this month so along with my scarf, I am definitely going to sleep with my blanket. Is it cold where you live? If so, what are you doing to stay warm?

Today we...

Protected by Copyscape Plagiarism Tool

...harvested lots of heirloom tomatoes and two cucumbers. We had more than an inch of rain this past weekend and it was still pretty muddy out there. Needless to say we had to watch our every step since this was really our first time in the garden since the big storm. We had to double check everything to make sure all our plants were ok. After tying up a few tomato branches and staking the basil plant, I must say it felt like we really had to work for our harvest today.

Week thirty five in the garden

This butternut squash almost looks ready for harvest.
Our broccoli is growing beautifully.
Can you believe there are strawberries growing in autumn?
And would you believe that our watermelon is still not ready for harvest?
Our sweet potatoes are thriving.
And we still have lots and lots of tomatoes coming in.
We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Rain, rain...

...thank you for staying away for walkie time. Sierra and I smelled lots and lots of pee-mail.
Can you see the twig that decided to come along for our walkie?
It moved from my side and clung to my trousers and fell off just before we reached our street.
Hurry Mommy and Daddy, we can feel the sprinkles. Let's race home!

Today we had...

...our first rainfall. The one thing I like about the rain is that it brings cooler weather. The one thing that I don't like about the rain is that it can sometimes interfere with walkie time. Daddy surprised us and came home early today. We had a great walk, enjoying the cooler weather. As soon as we walked onto our street, we felt the first raindrop. How did Daddy know?! It's supposed to rain all weekend. I'm hoping there will be a break in the rain for walkie time. I'm crossing my paws now.

Thankful Thursday

Our friends, Maggie and Mitch honored us with the Doggie Bloggie Award. Thank you so much, Maggie and Mitch!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the ones who gave it to you and link to them.

2. Name ten things about yourself. Try to be as creative as possible.

3. Then award this to other doggie bloggers.

4. Most of all, have fun!!!

********************************************************************
Teddy

1. I follow Mommy where ever she goes. I never leave her side.
2. I love, love, love walks. When it's time for our walkie, I sit in front of my collar and leash, waiting for Mommy and Daddy to put it on.
3. If I find a towel on the floor, I like to rub my neck in it. Mommy wishes she knew why I do this.
4. I LOVE the cold weather. I once swam in Lake Tahoe in the middle of January. By the time we'd walked back to our cabin, I had icicles hanging off my hair. It's a real bummer we didn't have a camera back then.
5. I love playing with Daddy. Sometimes I even take toys to him when he's sleeping because I want to play.

Sierra

1. I follow my Daddy where ever he goes. I'm a total Daddy's girl.
2. I love getting belly rubs and back scratches.
3. I am the best protector I know. I bark at everything.
4. I make lots of noises when I sleep. Mommy says I must have some wild dreams.
5. I have a fascination with birds. Daddy thinks it's because they kept me alive when I lived on the streets.

We want to share this award with ALL of our pawesome friends. We love you and thank you for being such pawtastic friends!

Sierra's Scoop

BLUEBERRY BUCKLE???? Wow did it smell good in our kitchen today. My Mommy sure knows how to make food that melts in your mouth. Teddy Bear says everything is so yummy because Mommy cooks with lots of love. It was our first time trying a blueberry buckle and I already think it is my new favorite. From the sweet crumbly crust to the warm gooey center of every last blueberry, each bite was as spectacular as the last. Daddy said it felt like fireworks going off in his mouth. That kind of scared me at first but then I realized that must be a good thing. Guess what's the best part? There are leftovers for tomorrow.

Once upon a time...

way before I was ever born, Grandma and Grandpa went on vacation to Alaska. How funny is it that they bought these little polar bears for my Mommy. Do you see any resemblance? I know what you are thinking, but there is no relation. Who knew Mommy liked stuffies too. Later, if the big one's not looking I think I'll see if I can make the little one squeak. I know, I'm so bad.

Week thirty four in the garden

Our broccoli is really starting to take off!
We still have lots of jalapenos growing.
I am really hoping that our watermelon will be ready soon. Daddy says we have to wait until the vine starts turning brown.
Mommy loves our parsley plant lasts all year long.
We still have lots of tomatoes coming in.
This onion almost looks like a pineapple.
Who knew basil could be so pretty?
Our sweet potatoes look like they are on track to be ready for harvest at the end of November.

I've always wondered...

if beer tastes good. Siku and Quinn sent us some doggy beer and I finally decided to give it a try. But there's a problem with the cap.
I can't seem to get it off! Can anyone help?
If I could get it off then I'd be able to take a sip and see what all the fuss is all about. I'm sure I would love it like all the grown ups do. Have any of you ever had beer before?

Fun on a Friday

Mommy and I were in our garden today. She needed to pick some basil for dinner. All of a sudden, I heard the loud hum of Daddy's truck. Even though he was down the street, I know the sound of his 4x4 (way before Mommy can).
I had to get to the front door right away to greet Daddy. Mommy was close behind but I beat her. Sierra was already at the door.
I love hanging out with Mommy in our garden but there is nothing more fun than greeting Daddy at the door. I think he likes it too.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for cozy places...like the bottom of the bed. Sometimes I wish it were taller so I could fit under there but my head fits so that will do. I love resting underneath the bed because it drowns out sound and provides the perfect shelter when I need to just get away for a pawfect nap.
This is what happened after Mommy started taking pictures.
We're so glad that so many of our friends are enjoying fall weather. We can't wait for the coolness to get to California.

Sierra's Scoop

What? Give me a break, who hasn't walked into a screen door before? I actually ran right through it the first time. I was very excited to come inside after Daddy came home from work. Mommy said it sounded like I ripped the whole door down, but I actually made it better by creating a custom doggy door. I secretly hope no one fixes this for a while, that way Teddy Bear and I can go out to the front yard any time we want. Have any of you ran through and broken a screen door before?
